  • Darjeeling Second Flush is a premium tea harvested during the second picking season of the year, usually between late May and mid-June. This tea is known for its full-bodied flavor, rich aroma, and distinctive musky sweetness.

  • The tea leaves used to make Darjeeling Second Flush are grown in the same high-altitude tea gardens of Darjeeling, West Bengal, India as the first flush tea, but they are harvested later in the year when the leaves have matured and developed more complex flavors. The leaves are carefully plucked by skilled workers and then processed using traditional techniques that bring out the full range of flavors and aromas.

  • The resulting tea has a rich amber color and a full-bodied flavor that is often described as having notes of muscatel grapes, honey, and caramel. It also has a slightly astringent finish, which balances out the sweetness and adds complexity to the overall flavor profile.

  • The color of the infusion is darker, and this tea has more body. The flowery, astringent flavor and superb muscatel aroma of the teas picked at this time has led to comparisons with the famous wines of Bordeaux.
  • Darjeeling Second Flush is a versatile tea that can be enjoyed on its own, with a splash of milk, or with a sweetener like honey or sugar.
