  • Matcha Gold Koicha is made from the youngest most delicate leaves of the first harvest from tea plants that are 30 years old and above.

  • Matcha koicha is a thick and strong version of Japanese matcha green tea, made by using a higher concentration of tea powder and less water than traditional matcha. Koicha translates to "thick tea" in Japanese, and is a type of tea ceremony preparation that requires more skill and experience than other types of tea ceremony preparations.

  • To make matcha koicha, this high grade of Matcha Gold powder is used, which has a richer flavor and a creamier texture. The tea is prepared using a bamboo whisk and a small amount of hot water, which is slowly added to the tea powder to create a thick paste. More hot water is then added to thin out the tea to the desired consistency.

  • Matcha koicha is often served during traditional Japanese tea ceremonies and is highly valued for its rich, full-bodied flavor and smooth texture. Because it requires more tea powder and less water than other types of matcha, it can be more expensive and is considered a luxury tea.
