DESCRIPTION

• Honey Oolong is a unique and exquisite tea variety originating from Taiwan, renowned for its delicate floral aroma, smooth texture, and subtle honey-like sweetness. 
• Like Bai Hao (Oriental Beauty), Honey Oolong is made from leaves that have been intentionally bitten by a tiny insect called the tea green leafhopper (Jacobiasca formosana). These leafhoppers feed on the tea leaves, causing a unique reaction in the plant. In response to the insect bites, the tea leaves undergo physiological changes, producing distinctive flavors and aromas. The bug-bitten leaves develop a honey-like sweetness and a complex flavor profile with fruity, floral, and honey notes. This natural sweetness and the resulting flavors are highly sought after in Honey Oolong teas. 

• The resulting tea liquor has a rich golden hue and releases a captivating aroma reminiscent of ripe fruits and honey. The taste of bug-bitten Honey Oolong is often described as sweet, fruity, and floral, with notes of honey, muscatel, and sometimes a hint of spice.
